Shubunkin Goldfish

Shubunkin Goldfish shows various characteristics that resemble other types of Goldfish. Their body is somewhat similar to Common or Comet Goldfish, and their colours are quite similar to fancy Goldfish.

Shubunkin Goldfish are of two types, London Shubunkin and Bristol Shubunkin. They have one caudal tail fin, one dorsal fin, pelvic fins, and paired pectoral. The London Goldfish has a more rounded caudal fin than Bristol. Both these varieties are one of the harder types of Goldfish variety you will find.

Shubunkin colour is calico and nearly 25% of which colour should be blue silver. An even coat of sharp black dots and colours that run into the shubunkin fence is the desired appearance for show Goldfish.

Fancy fantail

The fancy fantail has an egg-shaped appearance, and their body can grow about three-fifth of its overall length. Fancy fantail has only one single fin that is dorsal fin, rest all the other fins are paired, including the caudal fin. Fantail Goldfish come in an array of colours from a single colour to multiple colours. Colours of the fantail Goldfish usually made up of orange, blue, silver, black, bronze, and red. Wakin Goldfish

The Wakin Goldfish is quite similar to the comet Goldfish, but they have an elongated body and double caudal tail fin that is similar to the fantail Goldfish. They are a popular breed in Japan and known as one of the common Goldfish of East Asia.

Wakin Goldfish are hard to breed and need to place in Goldfish ponds. If you set them in a Goldfish tank, then the goldfish tank size should be large enough to accommodate its growth of over a foot long.

They are fast swimmers with a big appetite and are not suitable tank mates for slow swimmers. They are not aggressive Goldfish breeds. Goldfish can be a problem if the tank or pond contains live aquatic plants that the Goldfish find tasty.

Wakin Goldfish are usually found in a red, variegated red, and white colour. The standard balance of red and white colour should be 50% each.

Scaleless Goldfish

You can find Scaleless fish in different colours, red, gold, or even blue and sometimes purple as well and they have more intense colours than scaled varieties.

You may be thinking that scaleless varieties are actually scaleless, but if you get deep into it, you will notice that they have scales. But they are just so small and thin that the fish appears almost scaleless.

Calico Goldfish

Blue Goldfish

Orange Goldfish

Rainbow Goldfish

If you are looking for a Goldfish for your tank, then you should consider either Calicos or White Scaled Goldfish. If Calicos showed an unusually sharp pattern of colours, then they are referred to as rainbow Goldfish.
